Schools and Youth Visits to the Centre
Herrings Green Activity Farm is the perfect place for your school or youth group. A trip to us gives you full access to all of the animal and bird of prey activities. Getting close to birds and animals is a memorable experience for all children, we are able to design a programme which suits your school’s or group’s needs. During your visit you will be in the company of one of our animal keepers or falconers who will share their passion and knowledge with you.
Visits to Schools or Youth Groups
If you would prefer, we are also able to bring a small selection of our birds and animals to you! We have been visiting schools and groups for many years and we believe the best way of learning about birds of prey and retaining the knowledge is by seeing them up close. We are able to cater our visits to children of all ages.
Talks are tailored to the specific needs of your class or covering different subjects such as habitat, conservation, food chains, adaptations and night and day. The birds can be a focus in Art, Geography, and History projects and inspiration for creative writing.
We visit schools and groups all year round and are able to adapt to a variety of settings from halls to classrooms!

Animal Therapy Visits
Animals have been used for therapy since the late 18th century and can improve a person’s mental and overall wellbeing.
Herrings Green Farm is home to many species of birds of prey and animals and we offer indoor visits to care homes where residents can get up close to our beautiful owls and small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs and skunk.
Our falconers are able to give an informative talk, allow residents to handle our friendly feathered friends and animals and watch as we fly some of our owls. All of this can be done inside in comfort, delivering both therapy and entertainment.
Visits last for approximately 2 hours and cost £135. We offer free travel to homes within a 15 mile radius of our farm.
