Halloween Junior Animal Keeper Day – October 30th 10.00-3.00

Get them off the screens, into their wellies and out on the farm this Halloween!

Looking for something a little different for the children this half term? Our Halloween Junior Animal Keeper Day is a full day of hands-on animal fun, giving budding young keepers the chance to get stuck into life on the farm!

Working alongside our animal keepers, children will spend the day meeting, feeding, handling and caring for an amazing variety of animals.

They’ll head out around the farm to meet some of our larger residents, getting hands-on with our goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, llamas and alpacas. They’ll help with feeding, learn more about the animals in their care and even head out for a walk with some of our cheeky goats!

There’ll be plenty of time for our smaller animals too. Children can enjoy Pat-a-Pet with our gorgeous rabbits and guinea pigs, before meeting the rather unusual Penelope the skunk and discovering more about some of the different animals we care for here at the farm.

And because it’s Halloween, things are going to get a little creepy! Our young keepers will come face-to-face with snakes, reptiles, creepy critters and crawlies, with the opportunity to get up close, handle some of them and find out why these fascinating creatures aren’t quite as scary as they might look!

Throughout the day there will be lots of opportunities to ask questions, learn about animal care and, most importantly, get involved. This isn’t a day of simply looking at animals — we want our Junior Keepers to roll up their sleeves and experience what spending a day working with animals is really like.

It’s the perfect Halloween half-term adventure for children who love animals, being outdoors and aren’t afraid of getting their wellies a little muddy!
