Home Educated Bird of Prey Classes – June 27th, July 11th & July 18th 9.30-11.30
Fly your way into our home education classes with our experienced falconers and beautiful birds of prey. Our classes are designed to educate students about birds of prey as well as having fun, topics covered include habitat, conservation, adaptations and food chains. What better way to learn about these amazing birds then having the opportunity to handle and fly them.
June 27th – British Birds of Prey: The farm is home to quite a few of our native species including the Barn Owl, Tawny Owl, Long Eared Owl, Little Owl, Kestrel, Goshawk, Red Kite and Golden Eagle. Under the guidance of our falconer students will have the opportunity to hold and fly some of these species. Learn about our native species; conservation status, habitat and adaptations.
July 11th – Owls of the World: Owls are such a majestic species, so much to learn when it comes to these incredible birds! Students will be able to meet, handle and fly some of the different species. Learn about the owls amazing hearing, eyesight, silent flight and hunting techniques.
July 18th – Teaching Talons: Meet some of the most incredible raptors from around the world. Falconers will be teaching students about the different species housed here at the farm including the Hawks, Falcons and Eagles. Students will cover adaptations, the difference between the species and their habitats. Under the guidance of the falconer they will be able to hold and fly some of the different birds.
£10.50 per child, one FREE adult with each paying child. Additional adults are £8.00 per person (additional adults pay on arrival).
