Description
The Red Kite was saved from national extinction by one of the world’s longest-running protection programmes. It has now been successfully re-introduced to England and Scotland and their population have gone from from strength to strength, giving them the name as the bird of the century.
This magnificently graceful bird of prey is unmistakable with its reddish-brown body, angled wings and deeply forked tail. The Red Kite is now a common sight across the UK but very few people have the honour of getting that close to them.
Our Kite experience gives you the opportunity to meet, handle and feed them. The activity lasts for approximately an hour, on arrival you will be met by the falconer and taken to see our collection of Kites, the falconer will give you a talk on the kites and answer any questions you may have.
You will then be taken into the kite enclosure where you will have the opportunity to meet, handle and feed our beautiful kites.
Admission into the farm is also included so once your experience is over you are welcome to stay on; view the birds, visit the farm and watch our flying displays and animal talks.
The activity comes with a gift voucher valid for 6 months, we run the experience 7 days a week am and pm depending on availability. Once purchased you are welcome to contact us to arrange your activity.
