Home Educated Farm Day – May 10th 10.00 – 3.00
Starting at 10.00 pupils will be given a guided tour of our farm and the animals we house, from here the work begins! Pupils will learn what its like working on the farm, pupils will learn and take part in mucking out, feeding and watering some of our animals including goats, sheep, donkeys and alpacas. Pupils will go on to learn about how we health check the animals, a demonstration of foot trimming and teeth checks.
Once we have finished some of the morning jobs we will then take a walk out over the surrounding fields with our goats before returning to the farm to feed them.
We break for lunch at 12.30, lunch is not included in the day so please bring a pack lunch with you. We have an indoor area that can be used for lunch. (Lunch is for 45 minutes)
We continue into the afternoon where pupils will get some hands on experience with some of our animals including our rabbits and guinea pigs, skunk and ferret. Learn about what we feed them and how we look after them.
For the last part of the day pupils will be introduced to some of our more exotic animals; snakes, reptiles, mammals and some creepy crawlies. Learn about their housing and the importance of the right temperatures and light.
The day finished at 3.00.
We advise children wear old clothes they don’t mind getting dirty and either wellies or walking boots.
This day does need to be pre-booked and we advise you book early to avoid disappointment.
£26.00 per child with one free spectating adult.
*Spectating adult can be with the children throughout the course of the day taking photos etc, the only time adults cant spectate is when we are out with goats on the walk, this is due to too higher number of guests**
