SEN Bird & Animal Experience – April 21st, 28th, May 12th & 19th 10.00 – 11.30

We are now offering SEN bird and animal experiences during April & May 10.00 – 11.30. These work shops have been designed to allow the children interaction with our birds and animals. The range of birds and animals allow the children to view them closely, touch and interact.

All of the children are encouraged to experience the birds and animals as much as possible, however some children may well choose to look from a distance. Our experienced keepers will aim to reduce anxieties that the children may have around individual animals, we have found by creating a calm and relaxed environment, this can often be achieved.

Spring has certainly sprung on the farm and this sessions allows children to get close to some of our babies; meet our beautiful lambs, goat kids and calves. A great interactive experience!

Children will be introduced to some of our beautiful owls. Children will be able to hold some of the owls, ask the falconers any questions they may have and learn all about the them; how far can they turn their heads, do they only fly at night and how good their hearing is. There will also be the opportunity for the children to have a go at flying an owl

Our animal keepers will be introducing the children to some of our furry friends we have on the farm including our rabbits, guinea pigs, Penelope our skunk and some of our reptiles. Children will be able to meet and touch the animals as well as feeding them.

Children will have the opportunity to meet and handle some different species of birds of prey, ask the falconers any questions they may have and learn about them. There will also be opportunities for the children to have a go at flying a hawk.

£13.50 per child and includes one free adult, additional adults £5.00 per person

Each session includes admission into the farm and bird of prey centre for the day.
